Cookie Policy

Definitions

Cookies are small text files (letters and/or numbers) that allow a web server to store information on the client device (browser) to be reused during the same website visit (session cookies) or at a later time, even days later (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, according to the user's preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Similar technologies—such as web beacons, clear GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5—can also be used to collect user behavior and usage data.

In this document, the term “cookies” refers to both cookies and similar technologies.

Types of Cookies

Based on their characteristics and usage, cookies can be classified into the following categories:

Technical Cookies (Analytics and Performance)

These cookies are used to collect and analyze site traffic and usage data anonymously. Although they do not collect information that identifies the user, they allow detection of repeated visits from the same device. They also help monitor system performance and improve usability. Disabling these cookies does not compromise website functionality.

Profiling Cookies

These are persistent cookies used to identify user preferences and enhance the browsing experience by tailoring content and offers accordingly.

Third-Party Cookies

While browsing this website, users may receive cookies from both the visited site ("first-party cookies") and from websites operated by other organizations ("third-party cookies").

A common example is the use of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by these social platforms and integrated into the hosting website. Their most frequent use is for content sharing on social media.

The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites operated by third parties. The handling of information collected by third parties is governed by their respective privacy policies.

For greater transparency and convenience, below are links to the privacy policies and cookie management options of the most commonly used third parties:

Google Analytics

The website www.donkeye.com includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). These are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect and analyze usage information anonymously. This data is processed by Google Analytics to generate reports on site activity. Google does not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google, nor does it attempt to link an IP address with a specific user identity.

Google may transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

Cookie Duration

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or until the user logs out. Other cookies "survive" after the browser is closed and are available during future visits by the same user.

These are known as persistent cookies, and their duration is set by the server at the time of creation. In some cases, a fixed expiration date is specified; in others, the duration is indefinite.

Cookie Management

Users can decide whether to accept cookies by adjusting their browser settings.

Warning: Disabling technical cookies (even partially) may impact site functionality.

Cookie preferences can be configured separately for each website or application. Most modern browsers allow for differentiated settings between “first-party” and “third-party” cookies.

For example, in Firefox, the user can navigate to Tools > Options > Privacy to access a control panel where cookie types can be managed and deleted.
